The Snake-Oil Almanack was started in 1990 by Donald Decae, David Simon and Claude Michael. The three man group dubbed themselves the Unholy Triumvirate and wrote a quarterly digest of Bizarre Magick: The Snake-Oil Almanack.

Simon is now deceased. Claude is a Certified Hypnotherapist and me… well I’m still banging the rocks together. I own and operate Magpie Magic, LLC and manufacture high quality magic tricks for magicians worldwide. I’ve retired from the rat race and work from home. I’ve never been happier.

The Snake-Oil Almanack included bizarre tricks for magicians, poems, drink recipes & music reviews. It ran for about 3 years with a very limited distribution.

I’ve kept the name and applied it to this blog, since the name still fascinates me. Included in the blog are bits of literature, quotations and random observations I’ve made and stored here for my own future reference. Publishing it on a publicly available service like WordPress is a convenient way of saving the thought.

Donnie Buckley (aka Donald Decae)
